IPY Oslo Science Conference 8-12 June 2010 Print
osloPolar Science - Global Impact

The IPY Oslo Science Conference will demonstrate, strengthen, and extend the International Polar Year's accomplishments in science and outreach. The conference is an essential opportunity to display and explore the full breadth and implications of IPY activities. The international and interdisciplinary science conference will in particular highlight the global impact of the changes that have been observed in the Polar Regions.

The Aurora Borealis Project (2008-2012) Print
logoAurora Borealis will be a novel research icebreaker with no national or international competitor because of its drilling capability, its sophisticated modularized mobile laboratory systems allowing mission-specific laboratory selections, its moon pools for drilling and for the deployment of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) for sub ice surveys, its propulsion and dynamic positioning systems and its capability for polar expeditions into high latitude ice-covered deep-sea basins also during the unfavourable seasons of the year.
